Constantius II was the son of Constantine the Great, Constantine the Great and his sons changed the Roman Empire from a pagan empire to a Christian empire then they changed the course of history when they started producing very high-grade collectible Roman Bronze coins. Although there are many coins of the Constantine dynasty, most are in very poor condition. These coins are the selected coins in very high grades that are collection of grade quality.
A predecessor of the denarius was first struck in 267 BC, five years before the First Punic War, with an average weight of 6.81 grams, or 1⁄48 of a Roman pound. Contact with the Greeks prompted a need for silver coinage in addition to the bronze currency that the Romans were using at that time.
