Calendar of The Month of August icon, along with the four Evangelists displayed on the four corners. 

Handmade Russian icon, middle 19th C. (1860-1880)

The icon is in very good condition. It is made in four different levels,

First wood, second canvas, third gold leaf and fourth the painting level.

Size: 31x26 cm, 12.2x10.2 inch.

The icon displays the Nativity of the Mother of God, the Entrance of the Mother of God into the Temple, the Old Testament Trinity, the Annunciation, the Nativity of Christ, Candlemas (The Meeting of Christ in the Temple), the Theophany (The Baptism of Christ), the Pokrov (Feast of the Protective veil of the Mother of God), the Evangelist John the Theologian, the Evangelist Matthew, the Evangelist Mark and the Evangelist Luke.
